For this purpose, an orthotropic roadway slab, which corresponds to the applicable design rec-ommendations, was modeled with the SOFiSTiK software as a grillage model, grillage model with shell cover plate (combined model) and FE-model. Subsequently, fatigue checks were calculated with FLM 3 and 4 for two design zones. The results show that the modeling has an influence on the results of the fatigue verifi-cations for the construction selected in this work. For the most accurate and plausible verification results possible, the use of the FE-model in combination with FLM 4 is rec-ommended. However, a first general overview of the fatigue of orthotropic roadway slabs can be obtained with all calculation models and by using FLM 3. Contrary to the norma-tive specifications, in view of the results, the implementation of fatigue check is also rec-ommended for new construction projects.
